Wietse fan Hylpen

With my Wietse
My biggest love is my first Friesian Stallion "Wietse fan Hylpen". Born 27-05-1991. (Father:Ygram, Mother: Marijke[Dagho])
He came to the Karoly-Baliga family in 1996 completely neglected. So we took our time and gave that horse a "new" life.
He was so eager to learn new things, that within 4 Months he learned all he needed, to start working in the show.
Wietse and I had a very good bond from the beginning. So although the first couple of shows were quite exciting, we both did realy well.
Wietse is a real "Show horse" he loves the audience and applause.
Even in times when I felt sick or didn't feel good, Wietse always performed on his best.
Then in 2001 I bought another Frisian named Tiede who was supposed to be his substitute. In 2004 I formed a "Tandem" with them two, which looked realy nice. Together they were a great team.
And for 12 years Wietse never missed a show. He's a healthy and strong horse.
Specialty: Spanischwalk,Polka,Half pass(traversal),Rear,compliment,Lay down,Sit,Canter changes,Canter pirouette. Ridden and "free"
Unfortunately in the summer of 2008, when we toured through Norway, Wietse got really sick. High fever etc.
Together with a good Vet (Dr. Muiswinkel) from the Netherlands, we got him "back on his feet", but it took him a while to recover. Then even worse luck hit us. Wietse started to walk lame from one day to another and the Vets concluded Wietse has got a real bad Arthritis in his front left foot.... So in 2010 Wietse officially retired.
Although Wietse doesn't really agree, since he wants to work. Every time when I get him of the fields, he still shows me what he can do!!
And when the music plays...he is there, straight away in the front.
Now he's the mascot of the other horses.
